Digital Scrapbooking Pages – Technology Meets Tradition

Digital scrapbooking is catching on fast. You can use your computer and make unique digital scrapbook pages. With photo editing programs you can remove red eye, crop pictures, touch up colors, brighten, sharpen, and perform other functions to make your photos better and more fun. Digital scrapbooks can easily be made by applying sayings or scenery that fit the motif of the subject.  You can also add where the picture was taken and the date too using the text tool of your editing program.

If you are using pictures from a birthday you can place birthday themed images, such as a birthday cake or the age of the person, onto the digital scrapbook pages. Christmas trees that include the year that the Christmas pictures were taken make nice accents. You may continue the theme with every holiday occasion since there are so many themes offered online now. A great background idea for graduation pictures is to add in caps and gowns along with the graduation year. Adding special effects to your computer scrapbook pages can be done in countless ways!

With digital scrapbooking you are able to print more than one copy.  If you are looking for gift ideas for all the people on your Christmas list, this is a great way to make albums for those close to you. There is a variety of textures, paper designs and inks that you can use too. You can even print pages in 12′ x 12′ size if you own a printer that can print in wide format. Most regular printers though do 8” x 8” well. Printouts of your digital scrapbook pages, compiled in an album or coffee-table book, provide instant gratification.

Digital scrapbooking has several other advantages as well. If yoo mess up while laying out a digital scrapbook page, a simple click on Undo gives you a second chance–or as many chances as you need–to get it right. Digital scrapbooking eliminates the disorganized mess that can sometimes accompany old fashioned scrabooking.  Instead of dealing with cutting and pasting paper, or using your own handwriting on your pages, you can simply print your pages, and add personal touches as you like. All of your pictures can be handily kept on your computer or on a CD-R or DVD-R.
